The Messerschmitt Bf109 was the Luftwaffe's standard fighter from 1938 to 1945. Designed by Professor Willy Messerschmitt, it first saw combat during the Spanish Civil War in 1937. The Bf109E version, which is featured in this model kit, had a maximum speed of 520 km/h at 5000m.
